We took our 2022 Toyota Rav 4 in to the Madison Alabama Safelite Saturday February 21, 2026. It was for a no cost to us Insurance Claim. It was for two small chips on the windshield that had tiny cracks starting. They were both less than 1/8 of an inch. When the technician brought the car back to us he was very nervous. He said he wasn't happy with the outcome of his work. One of the chips was now cracked about 1. 5 inches and the other was cracked about 2. 5 inches. He also tried to fix a surface chip and it was now cracked about 3. 5 inches. He said he stopped after they started cracking. Why try it 3 times then? Next he said do you want to come inside and schedule a windshield replacement? We contacted our insurance about this and they said Safelite said they only tried to repair 2 places not 3. Now we have to pay to get a new windshield and it definitely will not be with Safelite. They took an easy fix and destroyed our windshield. I would not recommend the Madison Alabama Safelite. My wife called the Madison Safelite this morning and spoke to the manager. The manager was not helpful and was rude. They still denied trying to fix the third place and causing a large crack where there was just a chip! Also the technician left black goo on the inside of the windshield where he cracked the windshield. Sorry the photos are not clear but you can see the cracks.

The repair process is an attempt to save the integrity of the glass. At times the repair may still be visible depending on the size (width and depth) of the chip. If at any time the repair spreads and or you are unhappy with the repair; the paying party will be reimbursed the full repair amount, if you paid for the repair out of pocket, that amount will be credited toward the full replacement of your windshield. I went online to look at a quote for my cracked windshield on Safelite. The closest location to me is Madison Alabama. I called the shop three times, the automated service is impossible and you cannot get through to a human but when I was told an agent would be with me soon I was disconnected, three times. The quote online for premium was $286. 48. When I went through to schedule an appointment, the price suddenly jumped up to $346. 82. I was finally able to get on a chat with a human and because I wasn't quick enough with typing my responses the agent suddenly ended the chat but had left an 888 number which I called. I spoke with a very nice woman and she explained that the premium quote I saw online didn't have recycling and fees added. Due to this very misleading information and not being able to even get in touch with anyone at the shop in Madison ( why even have a phone number? ) I will not ever ever ever ever be using Safelite. When it's that difficult to try to deal with a company, they must not want my business.

Terrible that calling the nationwide toll free number AND the local Safelite office results in a frustrating Chatbot that you can't get past. Customer Service sucks.
