RUN AROUND
Review by V on 11 Sep 2025 review stating RUN AROUND A few years ago I had my windshield replaced by a mobile safelite rep. Immediately after he left I noticed an imperfection in the glass right at my eye level. I told my husband and he said it was not such a big deal as he does most of the driving even in my car. He could see over it so driving for him was not so bad. He did notice it though. June of 2025 I began driving my car more myself again and the spot was just too much t bear. It made my head hurt and was a hazard. Imagine looking through one of your friends eyeglasses that has a different power than you are used to. Safelite gave me some push back on how long it took me to address the replacement but they eventually agreed to do it. I was very grateful and thankful. The young man, and I mean looked like straight out of high school, that replaced the windshield was nice enough and I did not want to hold his age against him. He did a good job with the window but he damaged my driver side wiper motor. He also left some of the foam at the bottom of the window above the dash line. I reported that the same day and got a little pushback again, but they agreed to come look at it. They sent a more experience rep and he immediately recognized the issue and agreed it happened as a result of the window replacement. He said they would have to order the part and it might take a few days. After longer than a week when I check, since I live in Florida and rain in June is a near constant I needed that wiper. They told me since my car was so old, 2006, that they could not find the factory part so they could not do anything further. I told them unacceptable and look harder and even would accept a universal part. I feel like I should not had to tell them about universal parts. Another 4 days and they still said they could not find the part and it would have to be universal. I said fine. They said they could not find a universal part. In less than 20 minutes I found the part on Amazon and called them back with that info. They wanted me to buy the part and then they would reimburse me. Reluctantly I did just that. I took the part to this Fort Walton location and gave them the receipt. I advised them that when I started this whole process to get the imperfect window replaced that they had my information from 2 addresses ago in the system and that I had already asked for it to be updated. It was not. So they "updated it again. " This was now July 2025 the day of getting the wiper motor put in. I also asked about the foam sticking up. When they finished with the motor they asked me to come to the garage to see something. In attempting to just force the foam down with a tool they broke a hole in the dash. I know my car is old but it is well maintained. I know it may have been brittle from sun and age but they could have lifted the window out to make that fix. It was a small thing I let go off and that was hard for me to do. When leaving they said the refund check would take 10-14 business days. I did not get my check. I still do not have my refund check, it has been 3 times "it has to come from corporate, they have to cut the check, It has been sent, the boss it out, not sure when he will be in, I will send him another message, we will tell corporate again" 3 times 10-14 days. At this point take the money our of the till, or petty cash and you get the money back from corporate. They started out being ok and helpful but descended into deceit and ineptitude. How hard is it to get a less than $200 refund for a 3 Billion dollar company?
