Marcus Trufant’s Celebrity Beach Volleyball Extravaganza, Presented by Safelite, Raises $30,000
SEATTLE, Wash. – Fans of Marcus Trufant, former Seahawk cornerback and host of 710AM ESPN’s Barbershop show, came out in big numbers for the first-ever Celebrity Beach Volleyball Extravaganza on July 11, 2015, at Bottega Fitness Park in Snohomish, Wash. Presented by Safelite AutoGlass®, the largest provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, the fun-filled event raised $30,000 to support the Trufant Family Foundation’s programs, including:
- Marcus Trufant Inspirational Scholarships program
- Youth Football Program
- Extend scholarship program to high schools in Snohomish County for youth in need
- Additionally, during the event, guests were asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Snohomish County food bank

Both Junior and Adult Volleyball tournaments attracted roughly 140 participants while another 130 registered as spectators. Guests were able to bring an item for an autograph session. The event concluded with a Barbershop Beach Party, which drew an additional crowd of 100.
“We want to thank everyone who came out to support our cause,” said Marcus Trufant. “I also thank our sponsors, particularly Safelite AutoGlass, the driver behind this event. We had a great time, but more importantly, we are able to expand our efforts to build a positive future for our community.”
During the event, 80 volunteers created a party-like atmosphere for guests, including 20 volunteers from presenting sponsor Safelite.
“At Safelite, we place an emphasis on supporting our local communities,” said Jeff Nowak, Safelite’s Seattle District Manager, “We are thrilled to help raise awareness of the Trufant family’s work. Together we hope to make a big impact the children of Seattle.”
The next large scale fundraiser for the Trufant Family Foundation will be the annual Marcus Trufant Bowling and Billiard Classic, which is yet to be scheduled.
