That night it rained. When I went to the carport the next day the back hatchback was filled with water. Water on the ceiling, water on the floor. Called Safelite to arrange for a warranty check. Set the appointment.
Waited for the 5 hour window for the 12-5 pm appointment where a tech was supposed to come to my house. At 4:45 pm I called Safelite to ask if someone was indeed coming to check the windshield. At that time I was told the tech was called to the shop. No one bothered to call me to let me know. Then I was told I'd have to bring the car back to the shop. Made the next available appointment for 11:30 am.
Back to the shop. Window needed to be replaced and drains checked. I said I had a hard stop at 2 pm and had to be on the road in time to pick up a child from school. The car was finally finished at 3 pm. Again, I sat there and waited.
As I got on the highway to go to my child's school, the plastic panel that covers the windshield and door on the passenger side fell off. When I pulled over I attempted to put it back into place. No luck. The plastic hinges were broken.
I immediately called Safelite to report the problem. I said I wanted someone to come to the house so I didn't have to sit in the shop and wait. I explained I was ONLY available between 10:30 am - 2:30 pm as I had to be across town at 3 pm. I was assured a tech would come and someone would call me 30 minutes beforehand.
The day of the appointment. It's now 2:45 pm and no tech.
I call Safelite and was told that someone put into the system that I was only available after 2:30 pm. I repeatedly and very clearly said I was only available in that window of time.
The manager said he was ordering a replacement part and would call me when it's available.
This has been the most incompetent and poor service I've ever received.
If I hadn't already had the windshield installed and paid for (that part was done very promptly), I'd take my business elsewhere. As it stands I'd never return to any Safelite in the future and will certainly tell anyone who asks never to go to any Safelite shop.
