Unfortunately, as I was passing by to go get my new inside rearview mirror, I made a stop at the Montecello road location. I had been experiencing a squeak and rubbing sound since the installation of the glass the day before, so I decided to let them check it out and see what was causing it.
One of the managers came out and checked the installation and noticed that the windshield was put in to low. We took my automobile for a test drive so we can hear the sound for himself.
You could not see the VIN through the little sight window at the base of the windshield.
He believed that the low positioning of the glass in the hole was causing the weird noise I was experiencing. Two days later I was back at their shop and they replaced the windshield and put it back in the correct location and the squeak stopped.
Now the only problem that I noticed is the glass is filthy. Where ever this windshield was stored, something from above was dripping on it for quite some time and left 2 drip marks on the outside. You can only see it when it rains. There was also something smeared on the inside that only shows up when the window begins to fog up inside. There are also two square areas at the base of the windshield that do the same thing when the window starts to fog up. Something got on this glass in storage and the marks will not come off.
