Safelite Has a Caring Heart

Learn how we live our core value of giving back.

At Safelite, giving back is an important part of who we are. Since 2005, the Safelite AutoGlass® Foundation has supported organizations that promote the health and well-being of families both nationally and in the communities where we live and work. With support coming from monetary and in-kind contributions, as well as the caring hearts of employee volunteers, we’ve made a difference in ways both big and small — and will continue to do so.

Check out a few of the ways Safelite has already changed lives for the better.

Colorado Teams Raise Funds to Aid Cystic Fibrosis Charity

The 6th Annual Safelite AutoGlass Sporting Clays Charity Shoot was held last July in Bennett, Colorado. This year’s event blew away all predictions by raising nearly $75,000 to benefit the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation that inspires and empowers people living with cystic fibrosis.

Safelite’s Teams in Colorado Springs and Denver, in partnership with Colton Underwood (star of last season’s The Bachelor) and seven additional sponsors, nearly tripled last year’s fundraising amount. The money raised is being used to support those afflicted with cystic fibrosis, bring greater awareness to the disease and continue working toward a cure.

Florida Regional Leaders Help Feed Their Community

Safelite’s regional leaders in Florida came together for an afternoon of team building at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Orlando. The team sorted and packed food items to be sent to local soup kitchens, food pantries, women's shelters, senior centers, and daycare centers throughout central Florida. In all, the group sorted 10 pallets totaling more than 8,900 pounds and nearly 7,500 meals for the community.

Ohio Teams Spread a Coat of Paint

Safelite’s training and quality assurance teams in Ohio recently volunteered at Directions for Youth & Families. This amazing Central Ohio organization impacts 6,000 youth and their families each year through mental, emotional and behavioral health services. Working alongside several of the center’s kids (who also helped pick the paint color!) the computer lab now looks extra spiffy!

Safelite Hosts Speedway Event for Kids in Charlotte

The Safelite Charlotte team hosts a speedway event for kids

Last spring, Safelite partnered with KBM Motorsports, Toyota and Charlotte Motor Speedway to host a fun event for The Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County in North Carolina. The club is the third largest in the U.S., helping and guiding over 450 children from the community.

The lunchtime event featured Safelite’s own NASCAR Truck Series driver Harrison Burton and Charlotte Motor Speedway mascot Lugnut. After a tasty meal, the kids danced, took pictures, asked questions, got autographs and learned all about Safelite’s #18 Toyota Tundra.

Safelite also presented a check for $5,000 at the event to help with the expansion and renovation of the club’s facility. In addition, they donated 100 tickets to the Charlotte-North Carolina Education Lottery 200 race, enabling parents to enjoy a night out with their kids and cheer on Burton.

Bay Area Donates Backpacks & School Supplies

One out of every four Bay Area children now lives below the poverty line. Two Safelite employees in California recently rallied the entire Oakland/San Francisco market and partnered with the Family Giving Tree foundation as part of its annual outreach to provide backpacks filled with school supplies for local kids who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them. In 2018 alone, more than 40,000 backpacks were distributed through 292 partner schools and agencies in the metropolitan area.

Wisconsin Team Gives the Gift of Art

More patients can experience the joys of art, thanks to the dedication of another Safelite-sponsored Alicia's Art Cart at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. There are now 40 such carts across the country.

Safelite associates delivered the new art cart to the hospital, where they were given a tour by hospital staff to show how the cart and its supplies will be used with patients.
