Name: David K.
Job Title: In-Shop Technician, Dearborn Heights, MI
Length of time with Safelite: 5 months
What do you do for Safelite? Perform glass installations, and repair stone chips.
How did you get started as a technician? I was working as a mechanic, and saw the hiring sign at the Dearborn Heights facility, looking for a solid career path I applied, and was given the opportunity to train and become an auto glass technician.
What’s the best thing about being a technician? For me, the variety of work that I do on a daily basis. It is not the same every day, and I enjoy working with the tools.
What is the memorable experience you have had with Safelite? Being a new tech, as I have only been in the installing business 6 months, I would have to say my experience going through training. Making new friends, and gaining new mentors in our Quality Team, with Brian and Jesse.
Do you have a favorite customer experience? Honestly, it really is very rewarding for me when I have a customer who notices the time and care I put into their vehicle with washing the windows, wiping the dash, rocker panels and vacuuming.
Outside of work, what are you passionate about? I enjoy watching sports and fooling with my motorcycles.
Dream car, or truck? Raptor F150
