Safelite Raises $450,000 in Charity Golf Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sept. 29, 2011 On September 26-27, the Safelite AutoGlass® Foundation hosted its first annual Charity Golf Classic, welcoming approximately 160 representatives from its suppliers and business partners from across the country, with fundraising efforts totaling more than $450,000. The money raised will be distributed to the many charitable organizations the Foundation supports nationwide.

The private event included a gala on Monday evening, connecting representatives from 15 central Ohio nonprofits with guests of the event, including:

•Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus
•Community Shelter Board
•Creative Living
•Friends of CASA for Kids
•Habitat for Humanity of Greater Columbus
•Komen Columbus
•LifeCare Alliance
•Mid-Ohio Food Bank
•New Directions Career Center
•Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio
•The Buckeye Ranch
•United Way
•Unverferth House

During the gala, Safelite® President and CEO Tom Feeney encouraged guests to seek out ways to support their local communities as well.

The event concluded with a golf-tournament on Tuesday, where the top-performing teams were:
First Place: Shane Duncan–Duncan Systems, Matt Miller–Guest of Duncan Systems, Steve Gard–Guest of Duncan Systems, Chad Honaker–Guest of Duncan Systems
