Safelite AutoGlass Foundation donates $525,000 in Impact Grants to central Ohio charitable organizations

“We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve established through our Impact Grants, and the difference these organizations are making in the central Ohio community,” said Betsy Blake, chair of the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation. “It is amazing to see how much this program has grown. We are thrilled to be able to make 21 separate donations of $25,000 each this year.”

The recipients of the 2017 Impact Grants are:

1. 4 Paws for Ability (4pawsforability.org) will refit an RV with cages to efficiently transfer a large number of dogs.
2. A Kid Again (akidagain.org) will purchase a van to transport gift items for adventures created.
3. The American Red Cross (redcross.org/local/ohio/buckeye) will replace one of two blood collection vans currently in operation.
4. The Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org/ohio) will host a Juvenile Arthritis Family Day offering parents and children the chance to meet new friends and learn about arthritis and the issues surrounding it.
5. Big Brothers Big Sisters (bbbscentralohio.org/) will expand their Little Readers, Future Leaders program at Highland Elementary School to serve students in grades 1–3.
6. Boys & Girls Clubs (bgccolumbus.org) will demolish and resurface the playground space at Milo-Grogan Clubhouse to make a more functional, multi-purpose area for youth to play.
7. The Buckeye Ranch (buckeyeranch.org) will construct a shelter house that will be used by children, their families and staff for individual/group counseling, promoting socialization strategies and coping skills.
8. CASA of Franklin County (casacolumbus.org) will provide guardians with additional items to investigate solutions that would aid children affected by the sex trafficking industry.
9. Childhood League Center (childhoodleague.org) will implement a toddler transition classroom to increase toddlers’ success in preschool and beyond.

10. Columbus Speech and Hearing (columbusspeech.org) will expand their outreach and screening program to identify preschool age children with speech, language and hearing delays to include targeted high poverty areas.
11. Community Shelter Board (csb.org) will underwrite the launch of a homelessness prevention program for expectant mothers.
12. Flying Horse Farms (flyinghorsefarms.org) will fund the medical operations of their cost-free camp sessions serving youth campers.
13. Furniture Bank of Central Ohio (furniturebankcoh.org) will purchase a 16’ box truck to strengthen their fleet of vehicles and enable more efficient operation of their Furniture for Families program.
14. Heinzerling Community (heinzerling.org) will use the funds to install ceiling lifts in resident bedrooms and bathing areas.
15. LifeCare Alliance (lifecarealliance.org) will provide unfunded meals to over 3,500 homebound older adults and individuals living with medical challenges and/or disabilities.
16. Local Matters (local-matters.org) will fund their interactive healthy food education program.
17. LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence (lssnetworkofhope.org/choices)
18. Mid-Ohio Food Bank (midohiofoodbank.org)
19. See Kids Dream (seekidsdream.org)
20. Star House (starhouse.ehe.osu.edu)
21. Turning Point (turningpointdv.org)
