Safelite Grows New York Metro Presence with Shop
NEW YORK CITY – March 1, 2012 – As Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, grows its physical presence in New York City communities, a new SuperCenter opened January 26 in Queens. Safelite AutoGlass® currently has three locations in the greater New York City metropolitan area with plans to open up to four more by the end of year.
Located at 1919, 37th Street, Astoria, NY, 11105, the 23,200-square-foot SuperCenter includes three double-depth service bays as well as over 3,280 part numbers in inventory. The waiting rooms are designed to be comfortable and spacious and offer customers Wi-Fi.
“This location is the first step toward a goal to increase our presence in the New York metro area serving Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan,” said Eric Buther, general manager. “Additional facilities such as this allow us to provide more same-day service to our customers. However, customers also will continue to have the option to schedule a mobile appointment. We look forward to serving the NY metro community for all their vehicle glass repair and replacement needs.”
The site was strategically selected for its location, which is north of two major roadways – the Long Island Expressway and the Brooklyn Queens Expressway.
Craig Susmin has been hired as the retail manager. He formerly served as a district manager for Avis. David Aponte will serve as the warehouse manager after also serving in that role in Orlando and then Hudson Valley. The operation will be staffed by approximately 25 people.
Safelite® customers in New York City and elsewhere can receive a quote or schedule service 24/7 at safelite.com or by calling 1-800-800-ASAP (2727). Both in-shop and mobile vehicle glass service appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
