Safelite AutoGlass Foundation names Betsy Blake as new Chairperson

08-31-2017

COLUMBUS, OH – Aug. 28, 2017 – Beginning Oct. 1, 2017, Betsy Blake, a national account manager for Safelite Solutions will take the helm as the new Chairperson of the Safelite AutoGlass® Foundation.

“The Safelite AutoGlass Foundation is an extension of our organizational purpose to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Safelite Group President and CEO Tom Feeney, “Betsy is committed to our community. She genuinely cares about people and regularly volunteers her time and talents to local non-profits in support of their missions. She has a passion for giving back, has an incredibly innovative approach to both the Safelite business and her involvement with the Foundation, and will make a great leader of the Foundation.”

Blake has been with Safelite Group for 27 years, excelling in various positions in both the supply chain and Safelite Solutions areas of the business, where she is currently a national account manager. She has been on the grant selection committee for the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation since its inception 12 years ago. Her commitment to serving people stretches far beyond her Safelite client partnerships to the community, where she’s actively served in board membership roles for the American Red Cross, and her current position on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Social Services (Faith Mission Homeless Shelter, Choices for Victims of Domestic Violence, and LSS Food Pantries).

“I want the Safelite AutoGlass brand to be known not only for repairing and replacing windshields, but for its giving heart,” said Blake about her appointment.  “I am excited about the opportunity to encourage Safelite leaders in Columbus and across the nation to get personally involved in giving back, and to cast that shadow with their associates so that the cycle continues to grow.”

The Safelite AutoGlass Foundation was created in 2005 under the leadership of current, retiring Chairman Randy Randolph, who has been instrumental in growing its impact so much so that to date, the Foundation has donated more than $9 million to organizations that support the health and well-being of families. Each year, the Foundation uses proceeds from the Safelite AutoGlass Charity Golf Classic to award impact grants to Central Ohio-based non-profit organizations. Since beginning the grant program in 2011, the Foundation has given 78 grants totaling more than $2 million and last year began a regional grant program that in its first year contributed more than $200,000 to organizations across the U.S.

About The Safelite AutoGlass Foundation

Safelite AutoGlass – the nation’s leading provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services – is committed to be a responsible member of the communities where we live and work. This includes those outside our doorstep and those across the world. As such the company supports employees’ charitable endeavors while also being a large fundraiser.

The Safelite AutoGlass Foundation was created in 2005 as the 501(c)(3) giving arm of the company aimed at supporting organizations that promote the health and well-being of families through monetary and in-kind contributions and volunteer hours.

The Safelite AutoGlass Foundation is set up as a separate entity, governed by company employees from the corporate offices and the field organization. The Foundation administers giving on behalf of Safelite and its employees, disbursing aid to approved causes or charities, and organizing many giving initiatives in communities where our associates live and work.
