Safelite AutoGlass® Expands Chicago Supercenter
CHICAGO – Nov. 14, 2011 – Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s leading provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, is expanding its Chicago SuperCenter, located at 500 East Thorndale Ave., Wood Dale, Ill., 60191, November 14.
The facility will expand from 28,000 square feet to 41,000, 35,000 of which will be devoted to warehousing vehicle glass inventory, making it Safelite’s fifth largest in the country. This allows the SuperCenter to stock an additional 2,300 SKUs (types of glass parts), improving same-day availability to local customers.
The customer waiting area also will be enhanced. It will be large enough to comfortably accommodate over 20 customers. The new picture windows will allow full view of the windshield installation area – which has grown from two service bays to more than 2,400 square feet.
“By expanding our Chicago SuperCenter, we will be able to provide more same-day service to our customers. However, customers also will continue to have the option to schedule a mobile appointment,” said Tim Zimmer, market manager for Safelite’s Chicago region. “We look forward to continuing to serve our Chicago-area customers in a friendly and timely manner.”
Chris Lindsay, a 14-year veteran with Safelite AutoGlass® serves as the SuperCenter’s manager and oversees a staff of 40 service representatives, dispatchers, technicians, and warehouse associates.
