What do you do for Safelite? Service customers, inventory management, glass installation/repairs
How did you get started as a technician? I had a lot of friends who were currently working for Safelite at the time I was looking for a job. They referred me to their Store Manager who interviewed me same day and offered me a position as a mobile technician out of the Chesapeake market.
What’s the best thing about being a technician? I enjoy servicing our people. I’ve always been a people person so working with clients whether they happen to be laid back or upset has never been an issue. I enjoy the look on their face when we’ve fixed a glass issue and gotten them back on the road.
What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had at Safelite? It would have to be when I traveled to Charlotte and represented the Chesapeake market in the regional “Safelite Best of Belron” competition. The two-day experience was beyond my initial thoughts and I can’t wait to compete next year for a shot at the crown!
Do you have a favorite customer experience? Before I came in shop I was a mobile tech. I once went into an office parking lot to replace a windshield for a customer. Before I knew it, 10 of her colleagues had come out of their office during the lunch break just to watch me work. It was a wonderful experience as I basically walked them through a windshield replacement step by step. By the end of the installation they were clapping and high-fiving me as they felt as if they had gone through a certification class themselves.
Outside of work, what are you passionate about? Spending time with my family is my most important aspect outside of work. I enjoy traveling and spending time outside exploring the country with my lovely wife.
Just for fun: What’s your dream car? I’ve never been into the older model vehicles so I would have to say a 2015 Toyota 4Runner or FJ Cruiser completely decked out in off road equipment is right up my alley.
